Fort Ruaz or rather the road cut of Ruaz is an Austro-Hungarian fortification built between 1897 and 1900 by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The fort belongs to the great Austrian fortification system on the Italian border.
The fort is located on the slopes of the Col di Lana at an altitude of 1,400 m and, together with the Court fort, formed the Buchensteintal barrage, belonging to Rayon V. The dam had the task of controlling the road that leads from Livinallongo to Arabba, or Val Cordevole.
