Erehof Den Ham is located in the general cemetery of Den Ham in the Dutch province of Overijssel. These Commonwealth war graves are located in the middle of the cemetery. There are three stones with the following names on them:
On 16 September 1943, a Lancaster III, the JB 144 of the 617th Squadron of the RAF, crashed into a meadow on the Janmansweg just outside Den Ham. The bomber was on its way back from a mission in northern Germany. Two of the aircraft's engines had failed. The pilot ordered the crew to jump. He still saw a chance to pull the aircraft up again, otherwise it would have crashed in the built-up area of Den Ham itself. The Australian pilot did not survive the crash and was buried in Den Ham cemetery. On the edge of the meadow is a monument in memory.
