The Prins Maurits Weeshuis is a monumental building on the Brouwerstraat in the Overijssel town of Blokzijl, which served as an orphanage until 1928.
Already in 1676 an orphanage was founded on the corner of the Brouwerstraat and the Wortelmarkt. Two houses were merged to form the new orphanage of Blokzijl, which served until 1873. In 1873, the old orphanage was replaced by a new building on the same site. Neoclassical elements can be distinguished in the eclectically designed building. In 1928, the last orphan left the building and the building lost its original purpose. Since that time it has successively served as an association building of the reformed church, art gallery and museum. In 1980, the building was repurposed and a restaurant was established.
