The Spoolderberg ) is a river dune on the IJssel in the hamlet of Spoolde, southwest of Zwolle. The hill, which used to be larger than it is today, has been an important gathering place for centuries along which different cultures have come. His function as a meeting place for the regional government began in Frankish times, with the Spoolderberg possibly being the place of the shire Salon; regional affairs such as celebrations and war consultations took place, lords were inaugurated and justice was administered, which last function the hill shared with the Markelerberg.
