Squirrels eat mushrooms, but whether they also like porcini mushrooms is not certain. The mushroom has this name because it often has feeding spores and because the cap resembles a loaf of bread with a little imagination. Squirrels mainly eat acorns, nuts and cones of conifers. And in addition, they also feast on berries, pieces of bark, caterpillars, young birds and sometimes a mushroom. Nice detail: the ordinary porcini mushrooms have been named this year's mushroom of the year. Especially to be seen in tree-lined avenues, such as on the Warnsborn estate.
