Sluipwijk is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the former municipality of Reeuwijk, and lies about 3 km northeast of Gouda. The villages is surrounded by the lakes of the Reeuwijkse Plassen.The village was first mentioned between 1280 and 1287 as slupewiic. The etymology is unclear. Sluipwijk is a linear settlement inside the Reeuwijkse Plassen, a lake area which developed as a result of the peat excavation in the area.
