The Work on the railway at the Diefdijk is part of the New Dutch Waterline in Acquoy, municipality of West Betuwe. Directly west of the place where the Geldermalsen - Leerdam railway line cuts through the Diefdijk, lies the Werk op de Spoorweg on both sides of the railway line.
The oval fortress island has an area of about six hectares and is almost entirely surrounded by wet moat. The work is located directly east of Leerdam and the railway line cuts the fort into two unequal parts. To the south of the track are three bomb-proof buildings, a guardhouse, a kitchen with canteen and a depot. On the northern part there is a second and larger draw. The cannons were stored in the draws.
