Fervenza de San Mamede

Fervenza de San Mamede is a spectacular waterfall descending from between the mountains of San Mamede Sierra. This mountain range is a protected area classified as a site of community importance (SCI), a member of Natura 2000 network and in the process of obtaining Natural Park classification.
The waters descending from this waterfall are from River Conso offering a surprising landscape route, showing us an idyllic place between the waterfalls coming from the mountain top, where during its different stages we gradually discover places like Pedroalbar or San Mamede da Hedra. This waterfall is set in a characteristic mountain landscape with A Queixa Sierra in the background and the Do Invernadoiro Mountains heading south west.
The mountain group made up of the A Queixa, San Mamede, and Fial das Corzas Sierras; also the Mountains of do Invernadoiro constitute the most complete natural space of Galician high mountains. The majestic lands of Chandrexa da Queixa-Serra of San Mamede, form an exceptional space to observe biogeographical transit occurring between the Mediterranean and Euro-Siberian worlds like none other in Galicia.
