The arrival of the americanos in Canet developed agricultural irrigation. In the second half of the 19th century, water mines began to be built to irrigate the former dry lands. One of the richest areas was the garden of the Busquets family, which also owned Villa Flora. Here six large fountains and the central bed were built with the designs by the modernist architect Eduard Ferrés. Now a large part of the former garden has been turned into a public park.
