Kontopouli is the third biggest village after Myrina and Moudros. It is an agricultural center in one of the richest farming areas of Lemnos. The agricultural land is developed on the softly undulating hills of the volcanic ashes and flysch. The village is still (or rather again) very active after a period of strong migration. You can notice that this is a rich agricultural area from the size of this village and the density of the sourrounding images. Quite a difference with areas in the NE (Plaka) and the NW (Sardes).
