It is possible that you received a message about malware linked to the website of RouteYou (yesterday 12/3/2013). This has now been resolved.
Allow us to explain the situation and the actions we have taken:
- The advertising system we use on our site was infected by malware.
- When we discovered the problem, we shut down the advertising system immediately.
- If your browser and virus scanners are up-to-date, there is no risk that your Mac, PC or server has been infected due to this incident.
- Google automatically detected that our subsite ads.routeyou.com was a possible source of malware and put that subsite and all other sites of RouteYou in the list of potential malware sources.
- Firefox, Chrome and Safari, use the malware list of Google. When you used these browsers, you might have seen the warning message.
- We informed Google about the actions we took, after which they checked our site again. They could confirm that everything was and is OK. It took a few hours before the message about malware was reset by Google. That's why you probably might have received this malware message until yesterday evening (12/03/2013).
- We are now checking and adjusting the advertising system.
You shouldn't encounter any more problems.
