Gand , en néerlandais : Gent , est une ville belge néerlandophone, située en Région flamande au confluent de la Lys et de l'Escaut. Elle est le chef-lieu de la province de Flandre-Orientale et depuis 1559 le siège de l'évêché de Gand. Avec 263 614 habitants, elle est la deuxième commune la plus peuplée de Belgique, après Anvers. L'agglomération gantoise compte environ 455 000 habitants.
