Des seigneurs de Cinq-Mars ,,, sont signalés depuis le XIe siècle au moins , assez mal connus : - Geoffroy Ier, fl. vers 1050 et † vers 1070 ; père d'Eudes/Othon Ier, fl. 1070 ; apparaissent alors : - Hardouin Ier , et - Eudes . - Hardouin II, fl. 1109 et 1127, était un fidèle du comte Geoffroy Plantagenêt , il marie Adélaïde et est le père d'André Ier, fl. en 1140, père de - Barthélemi Ier, fl. 1178, père lui-même de Pierre, Guillaume et André II de Saint-Médard. - André II, fl. en 1202 et 1206, † en Terre sainte en 1210, époux de Marguerite, est le père de - Barthélemi II, encore un enfant sous tutelle en 1210-1218. Seraient ensuite sires de St-Médard un certain - Raoul du Verger en 1232, puis - Raoul de Saint-Alemand, † avant 1272, et sa fille Eustachie de St-Alemand.
