La cocathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l'Annonciation de Bourg-en-Bresse, longtemps seule église paroissiale des Burgiens après la suppression de la paroisse Saint-Pierre, fut de 1515 à 1534 le siège de l'éphémère diocèse de Bourg. Elle est classée au titre des monuments historiques le 21 décembre 1914. Elle a été érigée en cocathédrale du diocèse de Belley-Ars en 1992 .
