Le canal Welland est un canal navigable de 42 km de long qui relie le lac Ontario (Port Weller (Ontario)) au lac Érié (Port Colborne). Il fait partie de la voie maritime du Saint-Laurent et il permet aux bateaux de contourner les chutes du Niagara pour passer l’escarpement de Niagara.
