Il disastro aereo di Tenerife avvenne il 27 marzo 1977 alle ore 17:06:56 CET a seguito della collisione tra due aerei passeggeri Boeing 747 sulla pista dell'aeroporto di Los Rodeos dell'isola spagnola di Tenerife, nell'arcipelago delle Canarie, causando 583 vittime.
Costituisce il più grave incidente nella storia dell'aviazione: vi persero infatti la vita tutti i 248 passeggeri a bordo del volo KLM 4805 e buona parte di quelli imbarcati sul volo Pan Am 1736 . L'aereo olandese colpì in fase di decollo il dorso del Jumbo statunitense che stava rullando in direzione opposta; entrambi i velivoli presero fuoco e andarono completamente distrutti.
