Ainsi, 3 des 4 enfants de Rembrandt sont morts après seulement quelques mois. Leurs tombes se trouvent sur la place derrière la Zuiderkerk. Sa femme Saskia est également morte à un très jeune âge (29 ans). Sa tombe se trouve dans l'Oude Kerk, dans la première niche à gauche de l'orgue. Sa compagne de vie ultérieure Hendrickje, son fils Titus et sa belle-fille Magdalena sont également morts prématurément. Ils sont enterrés avec Rembrandt lui-même dans la Westerkerk.
