The Church by the Sea is the oldest building in Urk. It was built in 1786 on the site of an older church. The church is owned by the Church Board of the Reformed Community of Urk, and the church tower belongs to the municipality of Urk. The church has the status of a national monument. Church services are held in the church. Many wedding services are also held there. Also special are the three ship models found in the church: a warship, a turf barge, and a botter.
