Taverne 't Brökhôes refers to the house that was built in 1901 along the Maas for bridge keeper Englebert Cuypers. It also served as a skipper's café: men and horses could spend the night there after a day of trekking along the canal. When the canal was widened in 1930, the bridge house was replaced by the current building. There is no longer a bridge and neither are boatmen, but you can still go there to satisfy thirst and hunger.
