't Wijngaerd Velt Just north of junction 185, at the height of number 330 of the very busy Naamsesteenweg in Bevingen, there are 5400 grapevines of the Pinot Gris and Auxerrois varieties. This is the highest point of Sint-Truiden, and here once lay the vineyard of the Trudo Abbey. In 1991, Jean-Paul Broos took up the thread again in what is now called 't Wijngaerd Velt. In an old bunker nearby, a tasting room is housed. Since autumn 2005, the vinification of the wine takes place here. A group visit (minimum 10 people) to the vineyard and the bunker is possible, tel. 0496 95 16 22.
