At Veecaterdijk 12a, lies the Zalker ferry, which takes walkers and cyclists to the village of Zalk on the other bank of the IJssel. From the Tea House by the ferry, you can enjoy a beautiful view. In the floodplains on the other bank lies the protected nature reserve Zalkerbos. This forest is very rich in rare plants and (spring) flowers that have traditionally thrived in floodplains along dikes.
