In de nieuw opgezette fabriek in het Italiaanse Campogalliano, bij Modena, moeten per jaar 150 exemplaren gebouwd worden. Niet lang na de GT wordt de Super Sport ge´ntroduceerd, een nog snellere versie van de EB 110, met 650 pk. De Super Sport is herkenbaar aan de speciale luchtopeningen achter de zijruiten (met ?gaatjes?) en de zevenspaaks wielen. Na vijf jaar en slechts 126 EB 110?s is het alweer over voor Bugatti: de vraag naar exotische sportwagens is wereldwijd tot het nulpunt gedaald door de kwakkelende economie. Na het faillissement worden door de nieuwe eigenaar Jochen Dauer nog ongeveer 12 exemplaren gebouwd, voor de stekker er definitief uitgaat.
