At the site where the current mill stands, there was already a post mill in 1372 owned by the lords of Aveschoot. The current mill dates from 1785, but many beams were reused. It is a post mill and functions as a grain mill, there used to be a horse mill next to it. The mill was owned by various millers until it was sold in 1945 to Count d'Alcantara de Saint-Gilles Gonzales, who transferred it to the municipality in 1973. The mill became a protected monument and was restored between 1978 and 1980.
