De Cotthem wandelroute start op het immense marktplein van Sint-Lievens-Houtem, bekend van zijn jaarmarkt. Deze landelijke gemeente ligt aan de voet van de 83 meter hoge Baleiheuvel. Op de flanken van die helling ligt het sympathieke gehucht Cotthem, dat zijn naam gaf aan deze route. We wandelen over een Romeinse heirbaan en talrijke kerk- en voetwegels. Ook de dorpjes Oombergen (Zottegem) en Hillegem (Herzele) vereren we onderweg met een bezoek.
