This historical watermill is the only remaining mill in the sub-municipality of Schorisse. It is located by the Molenbeek and was owned by the Lords of Schorisse from its first mention in 1456 until the French domination in 1796. Their castle was actually in the immediate vicinity.
The mill still grinds daily. The current miller, Rufin Vanderdonckt, is the fifth generation of this family to use the mill professionally. The mill received the designation "Active Mill 2013" in 2013. This nomination was made by the Molenforum Vlaanderen vzw.
