The Monastery Cage at Kalenberg was unused and neglected for a long time, but has since been restored. It is only used for educational purposes.
The oldest swamp forests surround the duck cages. Many alders and birches grow in the swamp forests, where honeysuckle and hops wind around the tree trunks.
