Yzeron is a French commune, located at an altitude of 700 m in the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The municipality of Yzeron is situated in the Lyonnais mountains, southwest of the city of Lyon. Perched on a rocky outcrop at 700 m altitude at the crossroads of the Yzeron and Garon valleys, Yzeron, a mid-mountain country, alternates between steep slopes and gentle valley lines. The utilized agricultural area represents one third of the territory, half of which is wooded with oak coppices, chestnut trees, or conifer plantations. The multitude of properties and the contrasted plot sizes create a varied landscape.
