The Parador de Cruz de Tejeda is a 4-star hotel establishment, belonging to the Spanish public company Paradores de Turismo, located next to the Cruz de Tejeda, on the border of the municipalities of Tejeda and Vega de San Mateo in the summit area of the Spanish island of Gran Canaria.
The parador emerged as a project of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria in 1932, entrusted to the architect Miguel de la Torre and his brother, the painter Néstor, who took care of the decoration.[1] Financial problems extended the construction, which was not inaugurated until 1945, following the model of a large typical Canarian house.[2] In 2009, it underwent a thorough renovation for modernization that included an expansion of the restaurant, a spa, and celebration halls.[2]
