Art Deco houses
Ronse
When you cross the bridge of the Hoge Mote, you immediately come face to face with a fine example of outspoken Art Deco houses in Mouroitplein.
Between the two wars, Ronse enjoyed a golden period in the textile industry. On the outskirts of the city, prosperous executives and textile barons built beautiful houses in the trendiest style of the time:
the Art Deco.
In the middle of the park is the statue "Domestic care" by Rik Wouters. It was sculpted in 1913 and is an intimate project of the housewife who muses on the daily worries. Rik Wouters' great muse was also his great love: Nel.
