Het ligt ten oosten van de stad Sneek. De bewoning van het dorp ligt voornamelijk aan de Fiifgeawei. Deze is vernoemd naar de Sneker Vijfga, waar het samen met de dorpen Gauw, Goënga, Loënga en Scharnegoutum tot behoorde. Offigawier is een niet al te groot lintdorp in de streek Lege Geaen.In 2021 telde het dorp 245 inwoners. Toch is het vrij groot qua oppervlakte. Dit komt doordat het dorpsgebied tussen Houkesloot en de Oude Riet en de inham Tsjaerasloot van het Sneekermeer loopt, ten oosten van Goëngamieden en Gauw.
