In 1995, the then 51-year-old singer Boudewijn de Groot married 40-year-old Anja Bak at the town hall of Bloemendaal. Anja Bak worked at the Amsterdam Pulitzer hotel on the Pinsengracht. Both Boudewijn de Groot and Anja Bak said 'I do' for the third time. Notably, the lyricist and friend Lennaert Nijgh, known for the song ''Jan Claessen was Trompetter,'' was a witness. What is remarkable about this is that Anja Bak was Lennaert Nijgh's second wife. "We have always been a big family," said Lennaert, "that’s how Anja remains in the family."
