At the bulging old bridge of Polleur over the river Hoëgne, there is a big celebration on the last Sunday of July. It is an abundance of dance and play, cake and sausage.
In the morning, the young men go hunting for the "beast" or "mâle bièsse." This beast is a centaur and is said to be a reference to the ancient Celtic myth of Arduina. Traditionally, the youngest married man from the bridge is thrown into the river Hoëgne because he does not join the hunt.
