Watching New York from London and vice versa through a secret tunnel that runs deep beneath the Atlantic Ocean?

That's what the the Telectroscope does.

An optical device called a Telectroscope has been installed at both ends which allows you to see right through the Earth from London to New York.

Follow this route and you get there in New York, or this one for London.

Based on the (fictitious) story of the creator and artist, Paul St George, the Telectroscope is an idea of his grandfather  Alexander Stanhope St George, born in London, 1848. When he travelled to New York to see the new Brooklyn Bridge he got a bit of a rough sea on his way back. He thought about a way to show the Bridge to the people from London. He though about creating a device which would allow you see through the other end of the tranasatlantic tunnel.

Of course, this is fiction! But Paul St Geroge did create a device to visually link London with New York, based on a video link.
