Kasteel Het Nijenhuis geldt als een van de best bewaarde havezaten in Overijssel. Sinds 1958 biedt het kasteel onderdak aan de kunstcollectie van Dirk Hannema (1895-1984), voormalig directeur van Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam en laatste bewoner van het kasteel. Hannema's veelzijdige verzameling omvat schilderijen, tekeningen, beeldhouwwerken en toegepaste kunst uit vele perioden en culturen. Het Nijenhuis wordt omringd door sfeervolle tuinen, die zowel formeel als landschappelijk van opzet zijn.In kasteel het Nijenhuis is een groot deel van de omvangrijke kunstcollectie van verzamelaar Dirk Hannema (1895-1984, voormalig directeur Museum Boymans in Rotterdam) tentoongesteld.
