The Veldroute describes somewhat of a distorted ellipse around Ardooie. In principle, you can join this route at any point, but to make it easier for you, there is a well-signposted access route from the center of Ardooie that will take you to the actual route. The same applies to the return to the starting point.
Around Ardooie, vast fields with different types of vegetables extend, but especially the cabbage varieties and leeks stand out. The numerous field chapels along the Veldroute, estimated to be about a dozen, are also remarkable.
After about three-quarters of the way, you reach the castle of Ardooie and then the provincial area 't Veld. So the route really lives up to its name. You can enjoy the many narrow and quiet asphalt roads along which this route has been laid out at your leisure.

WAYMARKING
Hexagonal signs with a red border and the direction, the name of the route, and the well-known logo featuring a cyclist in red. The Veldroute is excellently signposted.

SAFETY
Narrow and quiet rural roads, apart from some short sections on larger roads.
Almost everywhere good, paved roads, mostly asphalted. Nowhere is car-free.
