Cormorant route

The rural Alveringem showcases its charms on no less than four bicycle routes. One of them, the Aalscholver route, is on the agenda today. In the year 703, Adalfridinghem was already mentioned: the residence of the people of Adalfridus. Since the municipal mergers of 1976, the area of the municipality has significantly increased. The following villages now also belong to it: Beveren-aande-Ijzer, Gijverinkhove, Hoogstade, Izenberge, Leisele, Oeren, Sint-Rijkers, and Stavele. Today’s bike tour takes you along quiet, rural roads and over the path along the Lovaart. Along the way, there are many opportunities to taste and enjoy.
