Marc Cavendish is from the Isle of Man, but he lived for several years during the cycling season in Quarrata in Tuscany. He found an excellent training route in the Montalbano hills, and anyone familiar with the area would not be surprised if sprinter Marc can keep up with the group at the 'Capos' of Milan-San Remo.
During this tour, you will ascend from Vinci to San Baronto after a fairly flat warm-up, then descend on the other side towards Pistoia. Once you arrive at the bottom, turn right towards Quarrata. In this town, we take it easy since it can get quite busy there. We cross the town, pass the Piazza, and even dare to drive into a one-way street! Make sure your GPS settings are correct: "Turn off route recalculation"!! This way, you can easily navigate if you take a wrong turn.
Starting from Seano, we begin the ascent to Monte Pinone (428 meters of elevation), a climb not to be underestimated through the village of Carmignano.
