Lac de Salanfe - Lac d'Emosson - Lac du Vieux Emosson

The hike is located in Dents du Midi (Teeth of the south) area, which got its name from teeth looking summits. These are the highest ones you can see down from Montreux. Lac de Salanfe is placed just below them, so there is a spectacular view of summits and high wall of rock raising up to 3200 meters. The path is generally around 2000 meters with some cols climbing up to 2500. 20km in total, may be shortened if we catch a bus going to campsite below the dam.

1. Start in Salvan where we leave the cars
2. It will be possible to catch the bus to get a bit higher
3. Climbing next to the dam
4. Around Lac de Salanfe
5. Two mountain passes to cross
6. Lac d’Emosson
7. Eat something in restaurant close to the dam or down in Giertroz
8. Going down to Giertroz by feet or funicular (http://www.chatelard.net/english/pages/descr_e.html)
9. Going back to Salvan by train

This will be of course one day trip.

1) To get there we will have to cross the former-highest bridge in Europe (187 meters) – Pont du Gueuroz

2) Below it there is natural park of the river Trient, which carved the marvellous ravine – called Gorges du Trient
