Odeigne

The crossroads where the E25 highway meets the communication routes N30 and N89, in the far northeast of the province of Luxembourg, is known as the Baraque de Fraiture. Fraiture, a village as small as a pocket handkerchief, is located nearby. Baraque refers to a wild, uncultivated landscape. The Baraque de Fraiture is situated at 638 m above sea level and is surrounded by dense woods where a few modest villages nestle in clearings.
TYPE OF ROAD
The route mainly follows forest paths with a base surface and dirt forest paths, inaccessible to strollers and wheelchairs. In the residential areas of Odeigne and Oster and its surroundings, you will walk on paved roads (asphalt). The slopes can be steep and long, which means you will feel your legs after a while. However, experienced hikers will have no problems.
MARKING,
The (small) first part of the route follows the white-red marking of the Grandes Randonnées Ardennes-Eifel trail, through an extensive forest. The return is not marked but is easy to describe (and of course also to follow) PARKING
There is never a lack of space around the relatively large church of Odeigne, on the northern periphery of the residential area. The church has a square tower with an open dome roof: undoubtedly unique in the Ardennes.
