Der St.-Knuds-Dom zu Odense ist die Bischofskirche des Bistums Fünen. Mit 62 mal 22 Metern Grundfläche gehört sie zu den großen Kirchen Dänemarks.Bereits vor 988 wurde ein Bistum namens Othinia als Suffraganbistum von Hamburg-Bremen gegründet. Es umfasste auch die südlichen dänischen Ostseeinseln. 1072 fiel es unter die Gerichtsbarkeit von Roskilde, wurde aber bereits kurz danach dem Erzbistum Lund untergeordnet.
