Meaux [mo] ist eine französische Gemeinde mit 55.750 Einwohnern im Département Seine-et-Marne in der Region Île-de-France. Sie ist der Hauptort des Arrondissements Meaux. Ihre Einwohner werden Meldois genannt.Meaux ist die bevölkerungsreichste Stadt des Departements. Sie liegt im Norden des Bezirks in einer Schleife der Marne und am Canal de l’Ourcq, rund 40 Kilometer östlich von Paris, wohin sehr viele Einwohner zur Arbeit pendeln. Darüber hinaus lebt die Stadt als Markt der Region Brie vor allem von der Milch-, Käse- und Viehproduktion. Der Brie de Meaux ist eine weltbekannte geschützte Käsesorte .
