Le château de Brachter est situé au milieu du village et a été commandé par Georg Friedrich August Ferrand von Montigny. Au XIXe siècle, la famille Von Montigny quitte l’Eifel et s’éloigne du château. Le nouveau propriétaire était un ancêtre des propriétaires actuels, la famille Hilar Kaut. Les armoiries de Von Montigny, qui représentent des épées et un lion bondissant, se trouvent encore à l’arrière du bâtiment.
