Salsomaggiore Terme è un comune italiano di 19 848 abitanti della provincia di Parma in Emilia-Romagna. Famosa stazione termale tra le più importanti d'Italia, è rinomata per le sue acque salsobromoiodiche, già note agli antichi romani e ai celti ma le cui proprietà curative furono scoperte solo nel 1839 dal medico Lorenzo Berzieri. La salinità delle acque è pari a circa quattro volte l'acqua di mare attuale. L'abitato sorge fra le colline dell'appennino parmense alla confluenza dei torrenti Citronia e Ghiara.
