Moenkelangenoe - oftewel Monnikenlangenoog - is een voormalig eiland in de Waddenzee, dat 700 jaar geleden tussen Schiermonnikoog en Borkum lag op de plek waar nu Rottumeroog en Rottumerplaat liggen.Net als bij Schiermonnikoog dankt het eiland zijn naam aan monniken. Het was vanaf de veertiende eeuw in het bezit van de kloosters Rottum en Oldeklooster. In de 15e eeuw werd het eiland voor het eerst vermeld. Op het eiland was een dorpje, en er was sprake van veeteelt. Het eiland was tussen de 12 en 15 kilometer lang.
