Léon PHILIPPOT: 1885-1972 The lonely anarchist
As a painter, a sculptor, a poet and a philosopher, this son of a farmer remains attached to the ground. For a long time he leads the life of a recluse in the middle of the nature, on the side of a brook. As far as art is concerned he follows the evolution of his time in his paintings, from naturalism to surrealism. In his ceramics, man becomes reconciled with love and in his surrealistic and non figurative collages, the work of a quiet old man appears.
