Der Flughafen Dresden , seit 2008 Dresden International, ist ein internationaler Verkehrsflughafen. Er liegt im Stadtteil Klotzsche im Norden der Stadt Dresden, etwa 110 Höhenmeter über dem Elbtalkessel. Seine Landebahn verläuft in Richtung Nord-Nord-Ost parallel zur Autobahn 4. Mit 1,76 Millionen Passagieren lag der Flughafen im Jahr 2018 an 14. Stelle in Deutschland.
Im Jahr 2019 verzeichnete der Flughafen nur noch 1,59 Millionen Passagiere und damit einen Rückgang um 9,3 Prozent der Passagiere gegenüber dem Vorjahreszeitraum, hauptsächlich bedingt durch die Insolvenz der Fluglinie Germania im Februar 2019, die einst ein breites Angebot in Dresden anbot.
