La Abadía de San Galo fue durante muchos siglos una de las principales abadías de la Orden benedictina en Europa. Está situada en la ciudad de Sankt Gallen, en Suiza. Fue declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en 1983.[1]
El monasterio fue fundado en el año 613 y adoptó el nombre por San Galo, su fundador, un monje irlandés, compañero de san Columbano de Luxeuil ; Galo murió allí en 646.
