Narbonne est une commune française située dans le département de l'Aude, en région Occitanie. La commune est traversée par le canal de la Robine, classé au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité de l'UNESCO depuis 1996.Narbonne est une commune urbaine et littorale qui connaît une forte hausse de la population depuis 1975. Elle est la commune la plus grande et la plus peuplée du département de l'Aude, la cinquième commune du Languedoc-Roussillon et la septième commune d’Occitanie. Les 55 516 habitants de Narbonne sont appelés les Narbonnais. Son unité urbaine compte 55 516 habitants en 2019, tandis que son aire d’attraction compte 154 437 habitants en 2020. Elle est aussi le siège d'une communauté d’agglomération de 130 390 habitants nommée Grand Narbonne.
