Le château de Warkworth est un bâtiment médiéval en ruine, situé dans la ville homonyme, dans le comté anglais du Northumberland. La ville et le château se trouvent sur une boucle formée par la Coquet, à moins d'un kilomètre de la côte nord-est de l'Angleterre.
La date relative à la fondation du château est incertaine: la tradition veut que sa construction remonte à l'époque du prince Henri d'Écosse, au milieu du XIIe siècle, mais il se peut qu'il ait été édifié par le roi Henri II d'Angleterre, lorsqu'il prit le contrôle des comtés du nord de l'Angleterre. Le château de Warkworth fut documenté pour la première fois dans une charte de 1157-1164, lorsque Henri II l'octroya à Roger fitz Richard. Le château en bois, considéré comme « fragile », fut laissé sans défense lors de l'invasion des Écossais en 1173.
