Wist je dat Claude Monet de lens van zijn oog verloor? Dat resulteerde in het niet blokkeren van UV, waardoor UV als witachtig blauw werd waargenomen. Hij verloor zijn linkerlens op 82-jarige leeftijd. Hij begon het UV-licht te zien dat weerkaatst door waterlelies, en begon ze te schilderen als witachtig blauw in plaats van wit.
